The East Meadow Chamber of Commerce hosted yet another chapter of its famous event, Culinary Delights, on Monday night at Carltun on the Park in Eisenhower Park.

Hundreds of community members turned out for the event, which showcased the best food that East Meadow and Nassau County has to offer. Guests had a chance to enjoy as much food as they could handle. There were also wine and beer tastings, as well as raffles, live music and an auction.

Proceeds from the 2010 Culinary Delights were donated to several causes in the community, including: the Nassau-Suffolk Chapter of the Autism Society of America, the East Meadow Parent Athletic Club, the New York District Kiwanis Foundation's Kamp Kiwanis, the East Meadow Little League and the Nassau University Medical Center. Guests also had the option of donating money to the MTA Taxpayers Abuse advocacy group, which is currently filing a lawsuit against the state for imposing the MTA payroll tax on businesses.

The chairmen for this year's Culinary Delights planning committee were Walter and Jim Skinner, both past Chamber presidents. Chris Hackert, also a past president, hosted the event by calling off the raffles and introducing honorees and guests.

Some of the eateries on hand included: A Taste of Home, Pietro's, Villa Grande, Frantoni's, Piesano's, Borrelli's, La Novella, Green Valley Deli, Gyrolicious, Bagelicious, Pita Lovers, Major's Steakhouse, Texas Roadhouse, Houlihan's, the Nassau University Medical Center, Elise's, the Empress Diner, City Cellar, Kiran Palace and Chipotle.

The East Meadow Chamber of Commerce, led by President Rose Fuger, meets on the first Wednesday of each month. The next general membership meeting will be held on Oct. 6 at 6:30 p.m. in La Novella Ristorante.

More photos from this event will be posted at LIHerald.com throughout the week.
