Island Park Little League welcomed the community to its annual opening day parade on May 4th, marking the official start of the baseball season in Island Park.

A beloved tradition among residents, the morning was filled with enthusiasm and community spirit as players, parents, and local officials came together to celebrate the beginning of another exciting season of baseball.

This year’s parade brought some exciting updates, with participants gathering at Lincoln Orens Middle School before embarking on a march filled with energy and excitement. The festivities began with a meet-up time of 10 a.m. followed by the commencement of the parade at 10:30.

Mayor Michael McGinty threw out the first pitch of the season alongside Island Park Fire Chief Eric Gorton. Young baseball enthusiasts from Island Park Little League showcased their team spirit as they marched through the streets. The parade culminated at Shell Creek Park.

With the sound of bats cracking and cheers filling the air, the timeless tradition of baseball in Island Park provided the spirit of unity among its residents.
