“For many years, the subject of my art has been art itself,” said Adel Gorgy, a Baldwin Harbor artist whose work will be exhibited at the Bay Area Friends of the Fine Arts gallery in Sayville (www.baffa.org) from Oct. 12 to 27. Gorgy’s solo show, “Abstracting Abstraction — Traces of Pollock, de Kooning and Warhol,” merges the conceptual with the visual, as the artist uses his camera to explore the works of abstract artists in ways that redefine the originals while adding their own distinct viewpoint. more
