On Saturday, April 26, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., 30 locations throughout Nassau County will serve as "drop-off" sites for the disposal of prescription drugs.

The effort is an extension of National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day, a nationwide initiative by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency.

The day aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, according to the DEA, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medications.
