B-I-N-G-O for Baldwin Relay

Fundraising for Relay For Life of Baldwin is in full swing this spring in preparation for the event June 13 at Baldwin Park from noon to midnight.

Baldwin’s Relay organizers hosted a supermarket bingo on April 10 at St. Christopher’s Church where dozens of people in attendance supported the cause and some even took home donated prizes.

Approximately $2,700 was raised for the American Cancer Society on the night. About 100 people came out to win at Bingo or one of more than 60 raffles.

In 2014, the community’s sixth time hosting the event to benefit the American Cancer Society, which funds cancer research and treatment, raised more than $52,000.

During Relay For Life events, participants take turns walking or running around a track or path. Each team is asked to have a representative on the track at all times during the event to represent that cancer never rests. Last year, about 400 people walked in Baldwin’s Relay.
