A Baldwin couple was arrested on April 10 after driving while intoxicated, hitting a car on Grand Avenue, fleeing the scene and switching drivers before a state trooper found their car in a Walgreens parking lot down the road, state police said.

Colleen Magner, 38, had a blood-alcohol level three times the legal limit when she hit a black pick-up truck, according to police. A trooper observed the accident and stopped at the scene as Colleen drove off. The trooper then located the vehicle a short distance away at the Walgreens parking lot and found Colleen’s husband Sean Magner, 41, behind the wheel. Sean was found to be intoxicated and was subsequently arrested for driving while intoxicated.

Witnesses to the accident stated that a female was driving the vehicle when the accident occurred on Grand Avenue. Troopers soon located the Colleen in the Walgreens store. She admitted to operating the vehicle at the time of the accident and was identified by witnesses at the scene. Further investigation revealed the couple also struck a light pole in the Walgreens’ parking lot.

Colleen was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, leaving the scene of a property damage auto accident and other traffic violations. Sean, who refused to take a breath test and had three prior driving while intoxicated convictions, was charged with felony driving while intoxicated and traffic violations.
