A Baldwin Senior High School graduate has been awarded a prestigious scholarship from the State University of New York College at Oswego.

Conor Broderick received the Presidential Scholarship. The award recognizes past academic achievement and potential for success.

Broderick, who graduated from Baldwin High in May, is an incoming freshman at Oswego and will study electrical and computer engineering, the college said. Classes there begin Aug. 24.

Presidential scholarships of up to $18,800 ($4,700 a year for up to four years; $2,350 a year for those living off-campus) are awarded to outstanding students, the college said.
First-year students who have completed the strongest academic programs with the highest grade point averages and standardized test scores are invited to become Presidential Scholars, Oswego said.
