Nassau police have charged a Baldwin man with stealing jewelry from his neighbor’s Central Avenue home on Nov. 3.

David Aguiar, 25, of 2590 Central Ave., was charged with burglary and possession of stolen property, police said.

First Squad detectives said they were investigating the burglary when they learned the stolen jewelry had been sold to two pawnbrokers in Baldwin. The investigation led to the arrest, on Nov. 10 at 5:40 p.m., of Aguiar at his home.

Aguiar is charged with two counts of second-degree burglary and two counts of fifth-degree possession of stolen property.

At arraignment last Wednesday at First District Court, Hempstead, bond was set at $25,000 or $10,000 cash. He is due to appear again in court on Nov. 24.
