Reaching out with care is their focus
Donza Funeral Home
Donza Funeral Home has been at the same location in East Rockaway since 1984. Guy Donza, his son, Thomas, and his daughter, Christine, are all licensed funeral directors. Guy’s wife, Marie, plays a significant part as well. It was Guy’s father who started the family tradition, back in 1926 in Brooklyn.
All members of the Donza family have close ties with the surrounding community. Guy and Marie raised their children in East Rockaway. Guy is a 50-year member and ex-chief of the East Rockaway Fire Department, and serves as deacon at St. Raymond’s Parish. Thomas was a past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus, and is a lector at St. Raymond’s Parish in East Rockaway.
The Donzas believe that a memorial service should be a celebration of the person’s life. They will honor the person’s passions, hobbies and/or vocation in whatever fashion is desired by the family. This could mean sharing stories, displaying photographs or even artwork. Everything is done tastefully and respectfully. Details, be it to tradition, religion, décor or room arrangement, are always honored.
Pre-arrangements can be made at no up-front cost. A Tradition and Trust Funeral Pre-arrangement can save a family the tremendous stress of dealing with funeral preparations in a time of grief. There are several ways of doing this, and any of Donza’s funeral professionals can help.
The Donza Funeral Home’s comprehensive website — www.donzafuneralhome.com — offers a variety of additional services. Take a tour of the facility and their products, via their photo gallery. Condolences, scheduling, a list of local florists, obituaries, and directions can be found online as well.
