Romeo and Juliet

Shakespeare’s heartbreaking love story is brought to life with a troupe of 51 dancers featuring inventive choreography and sumptuous costumes and sets, at Tilles Center, on Saturday, Feb. 16, at 8 p.m.

The State Ballet Theatre of Russia, which hails from the city of Voronezh, transports audiences to Renaissance Verona in its new production of the beloved ballet, set to the familiar Prokofiev score and choreographed by Mikhail Lavrovsky, former principal dancer of the Bolshoi Ballet, and now a leading Russian choreographer for the Bolshoi and other companies. From the breathtaking sword-fights of the Capulets and Montagues to the spellbinding romance of Romeo and Juliet’s balcony scene, Moiseyev’s Romeo and Juliet blazes with passion.

Tickets are $75, $55 and $40; available at (800) 745-3000 or www.ticketmaster.com or www.tillescenter.org.

Tilles Center for the Performing Arts, LIU Post, Rte. 25A, Brookville.
