Family Fun

World War II Encampment
Step back in time to those years when the world was at war, as a ‘band of brothers’ descends upon Old Bethpage Village Restoration. The historic site is transformed into the French countryside of the 1940s in a vivid portrayal of a rural European battlefield when American soldiers took on and defeated the Nazi Third Reich. The ‘soldiers’ will engage in tactical exercise and demonstrate vintage weapons, while exploring the daily routines of the average soldier.
Saturday and Sunday, May 21-22, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. $10; $7 children. Old Bethpage Village Restoration, Round Swamp Rd., Old Bethpage. (516) 572-8400.
