Crime watch: Lynbrook, East Rockaway

Arrests

a 20-year-old male from North Bellmore was arrested and charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of marijuana and speeding on Peninsula Boulevard on Feb. 13 at 1:17 a.m.

On Feb. 13 at 11:09 p.m., a 34-year-old male from Roosevelt was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal possession of marijuana, unlawful possession of marijuana and failure to maintain a lane on Sunrise Highway.

At 12:20 p.m. on Feb. 14, 57-year-old male from Long Beach was arrested and charged with menacing at Lynbrook Police Department headquarters for an incident that occurred on Scranton Avenue on Jan. 17.

A 33-year-old from Elmont was arrested and charged with larceny at CVS Pharmacy, 633 Merrick Road, on Feb. 16 at 10:52 a.m.

On Feb. 16 at 8:15 p.m., a 29-year-old from Brooklyn was arrested and charged with aggravated unlicensed operator, no seat belt-rear seat for children ages 4 to 8 and making an improper turn on Sunrise Highway.

At 9:19 a.m. on Feb. 17, a 45-year-old male from Inwood was arrested and charged with aggravated unlicensed operator, unlicensed operation, speeding and equipment violation on Peninsula Boulevard.

Grand larceny

On Feb. 7 at 4:30 p.m., an unidentified person broke into a 2004 Volkswagen while it was parked at Sunrise Volkswagen, at 931 Sunrise Highway, and stole a Nikon camera, two women’s wigs and 120 Bath & Body Works bottles of lotions, perfumes and hand sanitizers. Total loss was about $1,200.

Suspicious unusual incident

On Feb. 8 at 5:04 a.m., four unidentified people entered a vehicle parked in a driveway on Baylis Place. Nothing was stolen from the car, but the intruders checked the interior and the trunk before leaving, and left behind a TomTom GPS.

Criminal mischief

On Feb. 9 at 1:25 p.m., a report was filed and claimed that an unidentified person damaged a 2013 Kia Optima while it was parked in a driveway on Vincent Avenue sometime between 8 and 11 p.m. on Jan. 19. The total damage was $720.

Leaving the scene of

an incident

On Feb. 17 at 8:45 p.m. a report was made that while the complainant was attempting to cross Broadway, from the west curb to the east curb, they were struck by a vehicle headed northbound. The driver did not stop and the complaint is under investigation by Lynbrook detectives.

Petit larceny

On Feb. 18 at 4:53 p.m., a report was made that an unidentified person stole a black North Face jacket while it was hanging on the coat hook in the men’s locker room of Five Corners Fitness, at 230 Hempstead Ave., on Feb. 12. The total loss is $600.
