Cops: Fight turns deadly at Bellmore LIRR station

A Roosevelt man was arrested on Saturday in connection with a fatal assault at Bellmore’s Long Island Rail Road station, authorities said. Through a joint investigation, Metropolitan Transportation Authority and Nassau County police officials apprehended Niheim Levy, 34, and charged him in the death of a 49-year-old Freeport man. more

Teen dies on the tracks at Bellmore station

A 19-year-old was killed by an westbound train Monday afternoon at the Bellmore Long Island Rail Road station, MTA Police said. The victim has been identified as Wantagh resident Benjamin Sassoon, MTA spokesman Aaron Donovan said. more
