On Stage

The Marriage of Figaro
The Long Island Opera is back on the Madison Theatre stage with its fully staged four-act production of Mozart’s beloved comic opera, with the South Shore Symphony Orchestra. This masterpiece of mistaken identities, morals, and manners features a stellar cast and innovative staging by Anne-Julia Audray, conducted by Scott Wiley. Dating back to 1786, it remains regarded as a cornerstone of the operatic repertoire. There’s never a dull moment for a lascivious Count and his entourage as they navigate the ups and downs of preparing a wedding, filled with clever twists and turns. Intrigue and mistaken identities ensnare everyone in a web of erotic passions.
Friday, Oct. 2, at 8 p.m., and Sunday, Oct. 4, 3 p.m. $45-$55. Madison Theatre, Molloy College, 1000 Hempstead Ave., Rockville Centre. (16) 323-4444 or
