Bellmore Crime Watch: Aug. 21

People named in Crime Watch items as having been arrested and charged with violations or crimes are only suspected of committing those acts of which they are accused. They are all presumed to be innocent of those charges until and unless found guilty in a court of law.

  • Rudolf Sardaryan, 27, of Bellmore, was arrested and charged with shoplifting on Aug. 7, police said. He was apprehended at Nordstrom on Old Country Road in Garden City at 4 p.m., according to officials. 
  • A Bellmore Avenue resident reported to police that ornaments hung on a PVC fence were knocked down and damaged sometime after 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 8. 
  • An unidentified victim told police that an unknown vandal or vandals shattered the rearview window of his car while it was parked on Ardmore Place in Bellmore. He said the incident occurred on Aug. 8, sometime after 8 p.m.
  • A car was damaged by a BB gun on Pea Pond Road in North Bellmore at 7:11 p.m. on Aug. 10, police said. Officials did not name the victim, and the perpetrator is unknown. 
  • Fatma Derneklioglu, 50, of North Bellmore, was arrested and charged with shoplifting on Aug. 11, police said. Derneklioglu was apprehended at Macy’s on Old Country Road in Garden City at 11 a.m., according to officials.
  • The Nassau County Police Department reported that a catalytic converter was removed from a car parked in front of Harley Davidson, at 2428 Sunrise Highway in Bellmore, on Aug. 12. The unnamed larceny victim said the part was stolen after 4 p.m. 
  • Michael Scoma, 35, of Bellmore, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated at 3:20 a.m. on Aug. 14. Police said he was apprehended near Division Avenue and Hempstead Turnpike in Levittown.
