Bellmore Fire Department hosts county carnival

Posted

In spite of scattered storms last weekend, Bellmorites and visitors from across the county enjoyed summer fun at a carnival sponsored by the Bellmore Fire Department.

The carnival was organized in conjunction with a series of events surrounding the Nassau County Firefighters Parade, which was held in Bellmore on Saturday. Department representatives said they hosted the parade and drills this year to honor Richard Messina, a former Bellmore chief who was elected president of the Nassau County Firemen’s Association in May.

The department held the carnival in the parking lot at the Long Island Rail Road station between Bedford and Centre avenues in Bellmore, offering an array of rides and games throughout the day on Saturday and on Sunday afternoon and evening.
