Bellmore sixth-graders have got talent

Bellmore sixth-graders recently shined on stage at the Shore Road School talent show, an annual event that students and parents alike love.

The show was held at the school, which houses Bellmore fifth- and sixth-graders, on Dec. 4. Shore Road’s oldest students showed a variety of skills to the packed crowd in the auditorium.

Putting their dance skills to use, students choreographed routines with songs by Ariana Grande, Elvis Presley and Bethany Mota. There were also vocal performances covering Taylor Swift, Christina Perry and Adele, as well as instrumental music acts.

Some students worked famous characters into their performances. Claire Levasseur and Gabriella Wahba, for instance, dressed as Glinda and Elphaba from the musical “Wicked” for their duet. There was also a comedic tribute to Abbott and Costello.

Laura Laude, a Shore Road music teacher, previously told the Herald Life that students look forward to the talent show every year. “It’s like a right of passage,” she explained. “It’s really become a kind of tradition here.”
