David Mahler, of Bellmore, has been named commander of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 1313 in Baldwin.

According to his Association for Rescue At Sea, Mahler is a “serial entrepreneur,” who founded Koncepts Communications, which he grew from a three-person Long Island-based operation, to a tri-state operation with more than $12 million in revenue and a staff of over 35.

He later sold the company while continuing to run tri-state operations, and then created two tech businesses and Koncepts Construction Company, the focus of which is assisting with the rebuild of residential and commercial

structures that were damaged by Superstorm Sandy.

Mahler is married, lives in Bellmore, and serves as Corporate Relations Officer for AFRAS, Director of Corporate Outreach for Coast Guard Auxiliary Association, American Red Cross Volunteer for the NY Chapter and a Nassau County Medical Reserve Team member.
