North Bellmore car accident victims in stable condition

The drivers of two cars involved in a North Bellmore collision early Sunday morning are in stable condition, officials said.

Nassau County Police explained that at 2:15 a.m. on Sept. 22, a 24-year-old man was exiting the Southern State Parkway in a 1994 Buick when he crashed into another car. Authorities said the collision occurred because the motorist made an illegal “U” turn while heading north on Newbridge Road.

The Buick collided with a 1995 Oldsmobile driven by a 28-year-old man, who complained of pain in his knees but refused medical assistance, police said. The 24-year-old was transported to a local hospital, where he was admitted and listed in stable condition.

Police did not identify either driver. Both of their cars were towed from the scene.

Detectives reported no apparent criminality.
