An accident involving three cars caused one vehicle to flip over near major roadways in Bellmore last week, fire officials said.

Vincent Scaduto, the Bellmore Fire Department’s public information officer, said that volunteers responded to a report of an auto accident with an overturned vehicle at Bedford Avenue and Sunrise Highway on Wednesday, March 26, shortly before 8 a.m.

Three vehicles were involved in the accident. One of the cars came to rest on the guardrail on the north side of Sunrise Highway. Another car parked in a lot near the Bellmore Long Island Rail Road station was also damaged.

All of the cars’ occupants refused medical assistance, Scaduoto said.

The intersection was closed for about 30 minutes on Wednesday morning. The accident is under investigation by the Nassau County Police Department.
