Holy Week services, activities in Bellmore

Several of Bellmore’s Christian churches have announced their schedule of Holy Week and Easter observances.

Easter will be celebrated on Sunday, March 31 this year. Several of the area’s churches will be holding different activities for parishioners in addition to religious services. The schedules of events at these churches are as follows:

Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church

March 28: Service at 10 a.m.; Maundy Thursday liturgy at 7:30 p.m.

March 29: Service at 10 a.m.; “Way of the Cross” program for children at 3 p.m.; Easter egg coloring event at 4 p.m.; Good Friday liturgy at7:30 p.m.

March 30: Easter Vigil Service at 7:30 p.m.

March 31: Holy Communion services at 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.; Easter breakfast at 9 a.m.; Egg Hunt program for children at 10 a.m.;

St. John Lutheran Church

March 28: Maundy Thursday services at 7:30 p.m.

March 29: Good Friday services at 7:30 p.m.

March 31: Easter Sunday services at 10 a.m.

March 29: “Passion Service” at 7:30 p.m.

March 31: “Sunrise Service” (at the Mill Pond entrance at Merrick Road, across from the church) at 6:30 a.m.; Easter celebration at 10 a.m.

March 29: “Morning Prayer” at 9 a.m.; Outdoor “Stations of the Cross” program, 12 p.m.; “The Celebration of the Lord’s Passion” at 3 p.m.; Special Good Friday service at 7:30 p.m., featuring a musical cantata called “The Seven Last Words,” readings from sacred scriptures and the veneration of the cross

March 30: “Morning Prayer” at 9 a.m.; “Easter Vigil” at 7:30 p.m.

March 31: Masses at 7, 9 and 10:30 a.m., as well as 12 p.m.; family mass (in the Holy Family Chapel) at 10:15 a.m.
