Summer Sounds

Jay Black
Rock the night away with some great ‘60s tunes when Jay Black, aka The Voice, returns to the Lakeside Theatre stage for a free concert at Eisenhower Park. Relive those smooth vocals that brought us such hits as “This Magic Moment” in the early ‘60s. His unmistakable sound continues to enthrall fans, as he gives new life to his classic hits. Hear all those great tunes from his Jay Black and the Americans days, including “Only In America,” “Come A Little Bit Closer,” “Walkin’ In The Rain,” and, of course, “Cara Mia.”
Friday, June 20, 7:30 p.m. Eisenhower Park’s Harry Chapin Lakeside Theatre, East Meadow (516) 572-0200.

Art Adventures

Garden Party
Nassau County Museum of Art welcomes summer with a party in its delightful gardens. Join teaching artist Pamela Koehler on a stroll through the gardens and enjoy a game of I Spy. Under Koehler’s guidance, participants will decorate flower pots, make seed paper and create fanciful hats. If it rains, the activities will be moved indoors, where there will be just as much fun, just in an indoor setting. Also, spend some time in NCMA’s sculpture park while at the museum, which features over 50 works, many of the monumental in size. For more outdoor fun, traverse one of the nature trails among the museum’s 145 acres, ideal for family hikes.
Sunday. June 22, 1-4 p.m. $8 materials plus museum admission: $10 adult, $8 seniors 62 and older, $4 children 12 and older. Nassau County Museum of Art, One Museum Dr. (off Northern Blvd.), Roslyn Harbor. (516) 484-9337 or www.nassaumuseum.com.
