Jewish group celebrates ‘Woman of the Year’

Meredith Gray, of East Meadow, is the Merrick Bellmore Dayan Lilah Group of Hadassah’s 2015 “Woman of the Year.”

The full name of the Dayan Lilah Group’s parent organization is Hadassah, The Women’s Zionist Organization of America, Inc. Hadassah is a volunteer organization that promotes, in addition to Zionism, medical care and research, education, advocacy, personal growth and Jewish continuity, according to the organization’s website. The Dayan Lilah Group, which comprises women in their 30s and 40s within Merrick and Bellmore’s Pnina Chapter of Hadassah, has several hundred members.

Gray, a member of Dayan Lilah for eight years, has volunteered as the group’s co-president, young leaders’ liaison, chairwoman of children’s events and membership vice president, helping recruit many new members.

She is an attorney and lives with her husband, Ben, and children Blake and Addison.
