One standout youth wrestler celebrated another successful season by bringing several titles to back to Bellmore.

Greg Brach, a seventh grader at Grand Avenue Middle School, won his fifth Nassau County Youth Wrestling title on Feb. 9. One month later, he placed second in the New York State Youth Wrestling Championships in the 70-pound weight class.

At the state meet on March 9, Brach won a very close semi-finals match; he was down 1-0 and scored a reversal with only seven seconds remaining in the bout. Brach wont the match, 2-1, earning him a spot in the state finals.

Brach has been an All-State wrestler five times since he was a second-grade student in Bellmore. He wrestles for the Bellmore-Merrick Tornadoes, a team coached by Phil Drago, Dan Brach and Richie Luxmore.
