A North Bellmore man was one of five people charged in connection with a recent robbery in Massapequa Park, police said.

Rajiv Singh, 19, was arrested on Feb. 10, according to Nassau County Police Department officials. He and two other local men robbed a 24-year-old from Massapequa Park whom the trio knew, authorities said.

At 7:15 p.m. on Feb. 9, according to police, Singh, Nicholas Vairo, 21, of Levittown, and Michael Myers, 21, of Seaford, arrived at the home of the victim, who was not identified. After 20 minutes, police said, Vairo drew a handgun, demanded the victim’s wallet and ordered him to get on the floor. Vairo, Myers and Singh took the man’s money, a tablet computer and two Xbox controllers.

The trio fled the scene in a car that Jessica Taylor Corsale, 20, of Massapequa, and Melina James, 18, of Huntington Station, had waiting for them, according to police, who added that the victim was not hurt.

All five defendants were arrested the next day and charged with first-degree robbery. Paul Leonard, of the Nassau County district attorney’s office, noted that Singh faced additional charges of fourth-degree criminal possession of marijuana and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. In addition to marijuana, Singh had psychedelic mushrooms on him when he was apprehended, police said.

Leonard said that Singh is being represented by an attorney from the Legal Aid Society of Nassau County.
