Old Mill Nurseries gears up for Christmas kickoff

Posted

Old Mill Nurseries in Bellmore is planning a Christmas kickoff on Friday, Dec. 7, from 5 to 8 p.m. that will also serve as a fundraiser for Hurricane Sandy victims.

Old Mill owner John Seery is teaming up with the Bellmore Lions Club to raise funds for Sandy victims. Old Mill patrons will be able to purchase tabletop Christmas trees that will be donated directly to Sandy’s victims. Additionally, Old Mill will be raising funds for United Cerebral Palsy of Nassau County.

The Christmas kickoff will feature performances by the Mepham High School band, and refreshments will be served. There will also be raffles and children’s crafts, and, of course, Santa Claus will make an appearance.

At the event, Old Mill Nurseries will offer a special 10 percent discount on Christmas trees. Old Mill is at 1862 Newbridge Road. For more, call (516) 679-6228. Hours are Mondays to Sundays, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
