Captain Billy Bones (aka entertainer David Engel) returns to the Long Island Children’s Museum stage for another swashbuckling adventure. This captivating interactive pirate escapade satisfies everyone’s universal curiosity for those briny buccaneers of yore. Captain Billy, considered to be a good pirate, teaches youngsters four and up the finer points of light-hearted mischief. Kids can join in some riotous, joyful competitions that will rattle the rafters, along with zany lessons on how to stand, talk, sing and laugh like the jaunty buccaneers of yore.
Friday, Sept. 2, 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. $9 with museum admission ($7 members), $12 theater only. Long Island Children’s Museum, Museum Row, Garden City. (516) 224-5800 or www.licm.org.

Howard Jones
The electronic ’80s synthpop icon visits Long Island on his latest North American tour, with special guest Loner’s Club. Known for chart-topping songs like “What is Love?” and “No One Is To Blame,” the classically trained pianist applied his classical skills to synthesizers, creating a unique sound and composing a string of chart-topping tunes that remain enduring hits. Jones most recent project “Engage” (March 2015) is a fan-funded, 18-track double-disc release celebrating his 30th year in music. Jones transformed the album into a multimedia live experience that incorporated projected visuals, custom costumes, neon makeup and immersive audience participation through smart phone apps. Among his many projects, he also wrote original tracks for the recent film “Eddie the Eagle.”
