Mepham cheerleaders take fifth in the nation

The Mepham High School varsity cheerleading team continued its winning ways when it was recently ranked nationally. The team took fifth place in the “Small Varsity Coed II” division of the National High School Cheerleading Championship, held on Feb. 9 and 10 in Orlando, Fla. The contest, sponsored by the Universal Cheerleaders Association and held at Walt Disney World Resort, was nationally televised on ESPN and ESPN2 to more than 100 million homes in 32 countries. Coach Nicole Kyriacou explained that her team bested hundreds of others from around the country to capture fifth.
