AftermodernisM: Works on Paper
The next in the series that began in June focusing on a group of five contemporary artists, continues with an exploration of the drawing skills and innovations of an even greater number of artists, including those whose work was seen in the summer exhibition. Land of the Rising Sun: Art of Japan
An original exhibition highlighting Japanese works, from Hofstra University Museum’s permanent collections, spanning the 16th through 20th centuries. Mysteries of Bats
Tackapausha Museum’s reopened exhibit features varied species of bats, including a live family of Egyptian Fruit Bats who fly and “hang out” in the museum’s nocturnal area. Off the Wall: Sculpture From the Permanent Collection
An exhibition of the Heckscher’ sculptural holdings, providing a broad overview of sculptural practice in America. Representational and abstract works created throughout the 19th and 20th centuries are on view, including portraiture, allegory, nationalistic themes, anecdotal figures from daily life, and decorative work in traditional mediums.
