Police arrested a Laurelton man after he and another man, who remains at large, robbed a 7-Eleven on Central Avenue at 12:15 a.m. on Thursday.

Douglas Simon, 36, of 13040 Francis Lewis Blvd. in Laurelton, Queens, was arrested and charged with first-degree robbery and criminal trespass, according to a police news release.

Simon and another man entered the store, at 190 N. Central Ave., and approached the two male employees. One of them approached an employee, pointed a black handgun at him and demanded that he open the cash register, according to the Nassau County Police Department. The other suspect took an undisclosed amount of cash, before fleeing in a gray, 2010 Audi A4.

A witness observed the vehicle in the area, police said, and officers later found the car in front of 101 N. Montgomery Street, where Simon and the other suspect fled on foot. Simon was arrested on Meyer Avenue in Valley Stream at about 2:22 a.m., and is due to be arraigned today in First District Court in Hempstead.

No injuries were reported, and police said the weapon has not been recovered. Police said the investigation would continue.
