Kennedy alumnus makes Forbes 30 Under 30 list

Michael George, a 2007 John F. Kennedy High School graduate, has gone from being highlighted in the pages of the Bellmore-Merrick Herald to the pages of Variety and Forbes, according to his mother, Lisa.

George, 28, was recently included in the Forbes 30 Under 30 in the music industry list for his work managing musical artists for Scooter Braun Projects.

According to Forbes, George discovered a teenage Martin Garrix when he was scouring the Miami dance music scene for potential clients, whom he then helped to become one of the top DJs in the business, with $16 million in earnings in 2016 alone.

George was president of his senior class at Kennedy, voted most likely to succeed by his peers, given a leadership award by the Nassau County Comptroller’s office and, according to his mother, had his own incorporated business at 15.

George’s business was built to showcase bands that came up from the halls of Temple Beth Am, of Merrick and Bellmore. Profits from the shows went to the Forever 9 Robbie Levine Foundation, according to Lisa.

“Bands came from all over, and their fans lined up to hear them play,” she said. “He was always conscious of giving back to others.”

While attending Syracuse University, where he was admitted to the Bandier program, centered around the music business and entrepreneurship, George organized musical events and even started to manage some of his own clients.
