Police: Merrick woman robbed at knifepoint outside her home

Police are looking for a suspect who allegedly robbed a Merrick woman at knifepoint in her driveway in the early hours of April 10.

According to Nassau County police, a Pettit Avenue woman was returning from a night out with friends at 1:28 a.m. when she realized she had left her pocketbook in her car, and went outside to get it. A man approached her, displayed a knife and demanded her pocketbook before fleeing with it, according to police.

The man was last seen running eastbound on Horatio Avenue, police said. The woman was not injured, and described the man as dark-skinned, possibly Hispanic, five-foot, nine-inches and 165 pounds.
