'Life. It is What It Is.' A solo collection of art work by Lisa L. Cangemi of Malverne, NY., on display April 2 thru June 30, 2010 at the West End Long Beach Library, 810 W. Beech St., Long Beach. The 'meet the artist' reception is May 1, 2010 at 11am-1pm.

Cangemi's paintings are created in a representational style, and her collages tell stories, incorporating photography and real life objects and images.

This show has over 35 pieces - mostly paintings which capture styles and moments in life that most people may let pass by.

The stories told are a time frame in life- helping you to see the funny side of something mixed with a reality of what is in front of us when we may not be paying attention.

Cangemi has been painting all of her adult life, as well as painting when she was a young student in school.

Cangemi is a graduate of the School of Visual Arts, a professional art director for her own graphic design company (C&C Graphic Design), an exhibiting artist, an adjunct professor of art and graphic design, and a curator for art exhibitions on Long Island. She has won over four dozen design awards over a dozen fine-art awards.
