Culinary Delights set for Sept. 29

The East Meadow Chamber of Commerce is hosting Culinary Delights for the 12th straight year on Sept. 29, a food tasting fundraiser that will benefit six local charities.

The event will be at the Carltun on the Park, in Eisenhower Park, on Monday, Sept. 29 from 6 to 9 p.m. About 25 businesses will be showcasing their food and drink specialties, and attendees can wine and dine as they wish, traveling from room to room for tastings, or walk along the gardens and listen to music.

Between 300 and 400 attendees participate in Culinary Delights each year. This year’s fundraiser will benefit the Nassau University Medical Center’s pediatric department, the Nassau/Suffolk Autism Society, Kiwanis Club of East Meadow Kamp Kiwanis, the East Meadow PTA Council, EPIC Long Island and America’s Vet Dogs (K-9 Corps).

The event will also feature a Chinese auction and music.

“The whole goal is to get everyone together, network, and taste the food East Meadow has to offer,” said Rome, the Chamber’s chairwoman of the board. “It’s an advantage to everybody.”
