As for Sunday’s Super Bowl, Ohrnberger said he knows both the Denver Broncos and Seattle Seahawks well — he faced Denver three times this season, and was in the same division as Seattle last year with Arizona. “It is going to be a brawl. It really is,” he said. “Those are two really tough teams … It’s just going to be an exciting game to watch.”

Ohrnberger’s contract status is uncertain for the 2014 season — his one-year contract with the Chargers expires once free agency begins in March. And while his stellar performance didn’t come as a surprise to Mascia, he said he hopes other teams around the league took note. “Nothing that kid ever does surprises me,” Mascia said. “Hopefully that will allow him to take the next step in his career now.”
