The Bowling Green K-Kids hosted its 6th annual talent show last Friday at W.T. Clarke High School to benefit the Eliminate Project, UNICEF’s global campaign in partnership with Kiwanis International, which aims to eliminate maternal and neonatal tetanus worldwide. The group raised a cumulative total of $11,500.

Leading up to the fundraiser, the K-Kids had already raised $7,600 to save and protect women and babies against tetanus, a fatal yet highly preventable disease. According to Tiffany King of the U.S Fund for UNICEF, the Bowling Green K-Kids have raised more money for the cause than any other K-Kids group in the world.

Friday’s show featured 20 vocal, instrumental, comedy and dance performances by students from throughout the East Meadow School District.

A panel of judged determined the award-winning acts, which included a dance by Lili-Anne Greene to the song “Invisible,” Bailey and Riley Walsh’s duet to “When You’re Home” from the Tony award-winning Broadway show “In the Heights,” third graders Nazarena Martinez and Siumy Coreas, who sang the Oscar winning song “Let It Go” from Disney’s “Frozen,” and Danielle Hallett and Rebecca Nagri who danced to Katy Perry’s “Last Friday Night.”
