Salisbury team heading to state tournament

The Central Nassau Athletic Association U-11 softball tournament team won the titles for District 32 and Section 6 in the Williamsport Little League Tournament.

The team went undefeated against teams from Riverhead and Sayville to clinch the section 6 championship. The girls on the team are all students at W.T. Clarke Middle School.

The team is now heading to the state tournament in upstate Chatham, beginning July 25. This is the second time in three years that a CNAA girl’s softball team has advanced to the state tournament.

Their coaches are Sal Sferrazza, Ray Connelly and Bill Karavias.
