Man charged for two bank robberies

Police have arrested a Salisbury man in connection to two bank robberies in the Salisbury and Westbury communities in the last two months.

Nassau County Police say Joseph Occhiogrosso, 38, who lives on Carman Avenue, burglarized Capital One Bank on 2530 Stewart Avenue on Sept. 15, and Bethpage Federal Credit Union on 750 Old County Road on Oct. 8.

In both incidents, police say Occhiogrosso wore a baseball cap into the banks, and presented a demand note to a teller. Police did not disclose how much money was removed from either bank.

Occhiogrosso was arrested on Thursday, Nov. 13 at 4:30 p.m. near Murray Road and Field Lane in Westbury. He is charged with two counts of third degree robbery. He was scheduled to be arraigned on Friday, Nov. 14 in First District Court in Hempstead.
