Mary Merber, 88

Loved her family, the Yankees and Sinatra

Posted

Lifelong Five Towns resident Mary Merber taught her family to love the New York Yankees, Frank Sinatra and Hawaii, while also imbuing them with liberal beliefs and the concept of accepting people as they are.

Merber, who lived in Woodmere, died on Feb. 16, after struggling with a number of health issues for the past several years. She was 88.

Her family said she was very much loved by all who knew her. Merber was a happy soul, and will always be remembered and loved every day of their lives.

Family and friends will remember her as the beautiful and devoted wife of Fill Merber; a caring and loving mother to her children, Michael, Mitchell and Marc; the sweetest grandmother to Adam, Kyle and Casey; and she was loved and adored by her daughter-in-law Vicki Merber, Mitchell’s wife. She was also the dear sister of Rose Bonora, and Frank Yannello, who predeceased Merber.
