Light Rain Fog/Mist Middle schools crown spelling bee champs
Yuktha Chiguripati, Shane Weiner advance to regional level
Woodland Middle School and W.T. Clarke Middle School each held their respective spelling bee competitions this month, with one student from each school prevailing as champion.
At Clarke, Yuktha Chiguripati was the best of the best, topping 27 fellow classmates to earn first place.
At Woodland, Shane Weiner bested 12 of his classmates to take first place.
Chiguripati and Weiner will compete in the next level of the Scripps Spelling Bee, the regional tournament, at Hofstra University, on Feb. 8.
