A man and a woman, both in their 60s, were found dead at a North Bellmore home on Thursday afternoon in an apparent murder-suicide, according to Nassau County Police.
Authorities received a call at 12:43 p.m. on March 21 from a 32-year-old man who reported that he had discovered the bodies of his mother, 61, and father, 60, at 202 Leonard St., each with at least one gunshot wound. At press time on Thursday afternoon, police had not released the identities of the deceased.
Police say they believe the husband may have shot his wife with a rifle before taking his own life. The motive was unclear.
Officials said that the son went to the North Bellmore home Thursday morning to check on his father, who reportedly had not gone into work for several days.
