The Nassau County Police Department, in conjunction with the Hempstead Police Department, made more than a dozen arrests in the early morning of Friday, Sept. 4 in a sting to track down bartenders that police said knowingly served alcohol to an undercover agent under 21 years old.

The arrests, 17 in all — including a man from East Meadow — were made at three Hempstead bars — McHebes at 722 Fulton Avenue, Dizzy Lizard at 736 Fulton Avenue, and Bangers at 774 Fulton Avenue.

A 20-year-old East Meadow man, Anthony Gomes, was arrested for disorderly conduct after police said he impeded traffic by standing in the roadway, and failed to obey orders to move.

They are all scheduled to be arraigned on Sept. 22, police said.
