The East Meadow Police Activity League hosted its annual homecoming for its youth football program last Sunday at W.T. Clarke High School. The day featured several football games played by the league’s different age groups, ranging from seven to 14, and performances by PAL cheerleaders.

There were also games and activities for children, a DJ to provide entertainment, and food available throughout the day, providing a fun family atmosphere for the entire community. “The place was jam packed with people,” said PAL president John Spirou.

Spirou said that students who came through the PAL, who now play sports for East Meadow and Clarke high schools, also came to the homecoming to show their support. “That’s what we like to show,” Spirou said. “That we promote unity in the community.”

Next up for the East Meadow PAL? Boys’ and girls’ intramural basketball will run from November to March, with games taking place inside local elementary schools; and bowling, at AMF East Meadow lanes, starts in October.
