Pathmark to close

The Pathmark located on Front Street in East Meadow is slated to close in May. According to Marcy Connor, a spokeswoman for the Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company, which owns Pathmark, the supermarket is closing because of the upcoming expiration of its lease.

“We notified our associates earlier this week and will handle future assignments pursuant to each associate’s respective collective bargaining agreements,” said Connor. “While this is a very difficult circumstance for our associates, customers, partners and the local communities, we remain focused on providing great value and service to our customers.”
