Police: E. Meadow man sold oxycodone pills to woman who died of overdose

Nassau County police arrested and charged an East Meadow man after they say he sold pills to a woman who overdosed and died.

At 8:30 a.m. on Feb. 11, officers were dispatched to a Barbara Drive home in East Meadow, where they found a 19-year-old woman dead on the floor. After investigating, officers arrested Bruno A. Mendez, 28, of Maple Ave., for selling oxycodone pills to the woman. Officers said that Mendez had two oxycodone pills during his arrest.

Mendez was charged with third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. He was arraigned on Feb. 12 at First District Court in Hempstead.

The woman was not identified, and officers were not commenting on the case.
