Rockville Centre bank robbed

Subject fled, and is still at large

Police are still searching for the man who robbed the Capital One Bank at 77 Lincoln Ave. in Rockville Centre on Dec. 2.

According to officials, the man entered the bank at 12:53 p.m. and demanded money from a female teller. He threatened to use a firearm, but no weapon was visible, police said. The teller gave the man an undetermined amount of cash, and he ran into the rear parking lot.

Both Rockville Centre and Nassau County police declined to comment, citing the ongoing investigation.

There were six employees and three customers in the bank at the time, and all were unharmed. A manager at the bank also declined to comment on Monday.

The robber was described as a black man, age 45 to 50, about 5 feet 9 inches and 160 pounds. He wore a dark-colored hat, a green long-sleeve shirt, green pants, round-framed glasses with thick lenses, a dark-colored scarf and dark shoes.
