Students beautify Meadowbrook School

Meadowbrook Elementary School students redecorated the school’s gardens on Sept. 13, in conjunction with the district’s Fall Beautification Day.

With shovels in hand, students, accompanied by teachers and East Meadow PTA members, dug holes in the front gardens and planted a vibrant variety of plants, including asters and mums. The school’s PTA purchased the plants.

Teacher Peter Olenik and PTA Co-presidents Lisa Petz and Tracy Reese were on hand to lend support to students and oversee the event. According to Olenik and Petz, the event makes for a special day that teaches students the importance of camaraderie and teamwork, all while beautifying their school.
