Three accidents brought out the Oceanside Fire Department on June 25.

Just after noon, a car drove into a building at 3249 Long Beach Road, near Cortland Avenue. The owner of the business inside told firefighters he was at his desk, just a few inches away from the wall, when the crash happened.

Because there appeared to be structural damage, the incident commander, Fire Chief John “J.T.” Madden, said that the Town of Hempstead Building Department had to be called in to check the building. Town Spokesman Susie Trenkle-Pokalsky said the department found no structural damage. One person was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

In the parking lot at 3644 Long Beach Road, at the intersection with Daly Boulevard, next to Pet Supplies Plus and the old Chase Bank, is a small pole where the handicapped parking spaces are located. At 2:57 p.m. a car hit the pole. One person was taken to a hospital, Madden said.

Then, just before 6 p.m., two cars collided at the intersection of Oceanside Road and Davison Avenue, sending four people to South Nassau Communities Hospital. Two ambulances from the fire department and one from the Nassau County Police Department responded. All four people had minor injuries, Madden said.
