Weigh more, pay more — it's only fair

It is a bottom-line issue: Each of us needs to take responsibility for our health. If we can’t, then we should pay more for health insurance and buy a second seat on an airplane when one won’t do.

In a published story, Peggy Howell, a spokeswoman for the National Association to Advance Fat Acceptance, said some passengers end up “embarrassed and humiliated” when they are asked to purchase a second seat. I am sure this is true; however, the wound is self-inflicted.
