EMFD celebrates the holidays with traditions of giving

The holiday season is a busy time for all of us, but in the East Meadow Fire Department, activities are stepped up just a few more notches than normal.

The past few weeks marked many holiday traditions of giving by our volunteer firefighters and EMTs. With members of our department out doing everything from Toys for Tots to Santa appearances, much has been accomplished in between the fire calls, ambulance calls, meetings, and trainings.

EMFD’s annual Toys for Tots was again a huge success as members, accompanied by Santa and his friends, visited the Pediatric Ward at NUMC giving presents to children who otherwise will not be home for the holidays.

The men of Engine 2 took to the streets with stopping points throughout the area bringing Santa Claus around for the children to enjoy. The Chiefs Office and Board of Fire Commissioners would like to thank all those members for their outstanding representation in our community.
